The New Home Is Down South

By: Sam Belo

While living in the top cities in the country like Metro Manila, we cannot deny the fact that it comes with tight rush hours, air pollution and the same old heavy traffic jams in main highways. Living in the city can easily be stressful and challenging. Accessibility is not one thing to worry about but the congested travel might become the main reason to wear you down and you may just want to stay at home instead even during your day-offs. Today’s people from the city desire to live in a more peaceful environment as an escape from the overcrowded surroundings and city noise. One of the best places to reside beside and outside Metro Manila is in South Luzon where you can enjoy nature’s natural breeze while being not too far from civilization.

Having to live down south is made easy in terms of accessibility with the help of the newest road networks interconnecting multiple provinces in the South like Cavite, Laguna, Batangas and Quezon all the way down to Bicol. This also helps people access major cities, malls, recreational activities, leisure and tourist destinations by land. Provinces in the south are not anymore about just cows, farm lands and old traditional lifestyle stereotypically. They are now emerging cities that are expected to continuously grow in property value for the next 5 to 10 years.

“President Rodrigo R. Duterte's signature program, Build, Build, Build, ushers in the Philippines' "Golden Age of Infrastructure," which has generated jobs and economic development, particularly outside of Metro Manila. When the current administration took power in 2016, it immediately set the greatest budget allocation for infrastructure in Philippine history in order to maintain and even accelerate the country's growth and, most importantly, to improve the quality of life for Filipinos. “

Living in South Luzon provides the convenience that everyone desires while maintaining the relief and relaxation of a rural setting. It is undeniably a pretty good location with these newly built and planned infrastructures across the country.

Metro Manila has a lot of good perks to offer especially in terms of accessibility but we cannot blame its people for seeking to relocate in rural areas in the province as an escape from the city’s hustle and bustle. It is just so refreshing to call the South your home. Agricultural districts, industrial zones, heritage sites, and commercial parks can all be found here, as are residential and plenty of new real estate projects. In addition, schools are moving south, giving students more options if they find it difficult to commute to school on a daily basis when face to face classes are finally implemented again.

Business-owners and investors chase people for foot traffic. More brand new establishments, commercial hubs, malls and other recreational activities are being built and offered because more and more people are relocating down South day by day. Want to go grocery shopping? Is it your pamper day? Crave that hot delicious ramen noodles? Whatever it is that you need or want is here now. Well-known brands and companies that were only found in cities before can now be found here.

Being surrounded by weekend getaways here in the south is a huge bonus! Hot springs for relaxation? There’s Laguna. Jaw dropping panoramic view of nature from a ridge? That’s Tagaytay. Trying to get that sun-kissed skin from beautiful beach resorts? Staycations surrounded by greeneries? Hiking and other recreational activities? There are Nasugbu, Laiya, Calatagan and many more in Batangas alone.

With all the advantages I mentioned above, it is still subjective to each person. If you are used to living in the city, deciding to move down south for good can be a big step that will require a lot of adjustments but the peace it grants you is just priceless. Hence, real estate developers are also definitely moving down South.

Topping in that category is Camella Homes. Camella in the South is present in Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Quezon, down to the Bicol Region. For 45 Years, Camella has been the place where the most exquisite memories have been, and continue, to be created.
