Facebook has been known to be the top social media platform worldwide that will allow you connect, socialize, be informed, share content, and establish your business. Its been two decades since it was launched and active users shoot up to 2.85 billion as of September 2021. From letting you "poke" your friends to being an established network to get the latest updates plus their growing marketplace which offers anything you can think of.

Here are useful Facebook tricks to up your social media game:

1. Save posts for future reference

Tired of using screenshot or copying link to your notepad about posts and articles that you want to use in the future? Facebook has "Save post" button that will let you save and organize them by categories of your choice. Whether its for travel, food, or home-hacks; you can arrange them by clicking the menu icon of the post > Save post > Save to 'New Collection' or save it For Later and is now saved on your Facebook profile. So where does it go? Simply click the Facebook menu > Saved.

2. Turn off autoplay video or sound

Autoplay can be a bit annoying especially when you want to save on your data or battery. It can also be embarrassing as you are scrolling in public and it starts auto-playing a video with an awkward sound. You can turn off the music for auto play or switch it off completely by going to Settings > then under the Preference tab click the Media > turn off Videos Start with Sound or click Never Autoplay Videos.

3. Two-factor authenticator for added security

Nowadays, hackers can easily have access to our accounts and by activating Facebook's two-factor authenticator can prevent them to obtain our data and to add more layer of security. This feature allows you to input generated codes from a third-party authenticator like Google Authenticator when logging in. Go to Menu > Settings > Password and Security > from there click Use two-factor authentication and set it up. Once done, when logging in to another browser you can have access to the code through a text message or Facebook's Code Generator, simply go to Menu > Settings > Password and Security > Code Generator. The security code will appear every 30 seconds for added security.

4. Unfollow someone without unfriending

Some people posts and uploads everything and anything that they do and go beyond over sharing it each and everyday. Stop over sharers without having to unfriend them, by going straight to their Facebook account > click the three dot menu > Following > it is set to be on Default and choose Unfollow. You won't be able to see any of their updates but you can always go back and change it. If you also don't want them to snoop on you and prevent them from seeing your updates, add them to your Restricted list; just go to their Facebook account > and on the Friends tab click Edit Friend Lists > click Restricted.

5. Never miss out on friend's update or a page's post

If there are some friends you don't want to see on your feed, you also want to be updated on others. This feature doesn't only apply on you friends but also to your favorite business pages. Don't miss the chance to be updated from your friend's posts by going to their Profile > click the three dot menu > Following > and choose Favorites. Be updated on your favorite restaurant or updates on real estate promos by going to their Facebook Page > click the three dot menu > click Follow Setting > and choose Favorites. This allows you to not miss their posts and updates and be on top of your news feed.
